If you feel like you’re forever on a quest to find a gentle fake tan that won't irritate your sensitive skin, then you most likely need to switch to a natural DHA bronzing product.
Looking sun-kissed when you have that special occasion coming up is the best feeling in the world - other than breakfast in bed, obviously. Unfortunately for many babes, a sunless tan with a self tanning mousse, foam or spray can be triggering for sensitive skin, causing dry and eczema prone skin to flare-up like Cardi B and Nicki Minaj going head to head.
At BB HQ, we care just as much about what goes into our products, as the results which come out of them. That’s why our new Self Tanning Mousse is made vegan friendly with 100% Natural DHA.
If DHA sounds like another language to you, here is everything you need to know about what it is and why it was so easy for us to decide to go toxin free when it came to our self tanning range.
DHA is the active ingredient in tanning products that gives your skin a sunless tan, available in both a natural DHA and a synthetic DHA.
You know that funky, unwanted fake tan smell, well that is a direct result of synthetic DHA found in most mainstream tanning products. Alongside synthetic DHA is generally other toxins such as parabens, formaldehyde and petrochemicals. Gross right?
Natural DHA, which is derived from sugar cane, interacts with the protein and amino acids in the outer layer of your skin to produce a golden brown colour. Apart from the unwanted smell, the main benefit of using a naturally derived DHA is that its made to react in the top layers of our dead skin cells, meaning it’s much less likely to end up in your bloodstream - unlike chemical DHA's.
With all of this in mind, it was as easy as ordering our morning latte when it came to including nourishing oils and only using 100% natural DHA in our new Self Tanning Mousse. Now all BB babes can achieve their desired shade of bronze with ultimate peace of mind, because true love isn't meant to be toxic.
