YOUR GUIDE TO A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP
How do I sleep dreamily and wake up wonderful? That’s the words on our lips. Ours, and about 1.9 billion per cent of the worlds population, who are currently struggling into their 8th round of alarm clock snoozing.. Just one more minute… and then comes coffee. Sweet coffee saves the day!

Read on for our guide to becoming a morning person without the coffee.

HYDRATE: Hydration is the key to balancing and replenishing the body. Drink up in the hours before heading to bed to balance your energy levels, muscles, joints and hormones. This balance allows the body to switch off - leaving you rejuvenated and refreshed in the morning.

For optimal hydration and repair – take a relaxing bath or shower before you sleep followed by an all over lather of Bali Body’s moisture intense lotion. The bath/shower will lock in moisture + relax the body, and Bali Body will assist in hydrating and repairing your skin. Get yours here: http://balibody.com.au/products/luxe-moisturising-lotion

QUALITY NOT QUANTITY: It’s often said that adults need between 6 and 8 hours of sleep a night for regeneration and general wellbeing. But according to scientific studies, its not how many hours you get its when your getting these hours. The “golden hours” are said to be between 10pm and 2am. This is when your body is wired to do most of its intensive healing and repair. In order to get your beauty sleep, try calling it a night early babes.

BEDFELLOW: Never underestimate the power of a bedfellow. He/she will whisk you into a good night sleep. And if you don’t have one? Your BFF will do. Cuddling releases all sorts of feel-good chemicals that help you unwind after a big day, relieve stress, and fall in to a sweet state of bliss.

COFFEE < HERBAL TEA: Caffeine is a stimulant which will have you buzzing under the sheets if consumed up to 6 hours before bed time. Caffeine can block sleep neurotransmitters and lead to insomnia. Try giving yourself a caffeine curfew and swapping that night time hit for a herbal cuppa. We recommend Chamomile tea for its natural sedative effect.

N-O TO NIGHTCAPPING: Who doesn’t love a nightcap before falling into a deep sleep? Not at all.. said no one ever! However, there is a misconception regarding alcohol and helping you sleep. Whilst that nightcap may get you off to sleep faster it does disrupt REM sleep, which is a phase of sleep associated with deep dreaming. The deeper you dream – the less drowsy you’ll feel the next day!

SWITCH OFF: Tech emits blue light, which is said to delay the production of melatonin (sleep-inducing hormone) and keep your mind engaged when its meant to be resting. Give yourself a tech curfew to allow your body and mind to switch off before hitting the hay & make your room a tech-free zone at night time. Your sleep will love you for it!
